Upgraded to Windows 10... Now "old" programs won't work?
« on: June 04, 2016, 08:41:48 PM »
Like everyone else, I'm sure, we have various programs installed on our computer. Well, one of my "go to" programs for photo editing is an old version of Jasc Paint Shop Pro (version 8, to be exact, released in 2003). It, along with several other also "old" programs, ran fine until we were forced to upgrade to Windows 10. Now it says to insert the program disc into the drive whenever we try to run these programs. I'm not even sure that we still have the discs for these programs and they're certainly not something I'd be able to find any time soon.

Is there any way to get these programs to run without the discs?

Thanks,
David

Forced?  I am still resisting.  Who made the decision you or Microsoft?

Many of these old programs expect the original disk or a license code in order to be reactivated on a new O/S install. Even a new install of an old O/S.

Every piece of ancient software I still use runs on Windows 10, but I have the disks.
