Search engines availability
« on: June 28, 2015, 08:43:22 AM »
Changing search engines can give you different results.

I use FF browser.  I found the small search bar at  right of where the page address is to be most useful. When you place a word or phrase into that box a drop down appears.  This is a default selection of search engines. It allows you to choose your default search engine.

Eliminate the Search engines you don't want and replace them with ones that are more useful for your purposes.

Below that is another link that will allow you to find many more search engines.  Some are engines that have been around for a long time. Others are specialty search engines.  I use Dogpile as an alternative to Google.  Google is good but there are biases built into it.  Sometimes the biases prevent you from finding what you are looking for.

I suggest avoiding ASK  if you do an ASK search it becomes your default search engine along with other unwanted advertising.  This has been my experience I avoid it.

Feel free to add your own experiences.
